Eileen (Kalinowski) Wiard came to Taos, New Mexico, from Boston on a Helene Wurlitzer Foundation writing residency for two months in the summer of 2002. She fell in love with the high desert and never went back, leaving behind a teaching career that she loved for a life of writing plays, essays and songs. Inside Outsiders is her first work of fiction. She lives with her husband, Steve, in the Land of Enchantment.
In the last few months, she has rediscovered the spiritual source of her music while attending the Hesychia School of Spiritual Direction in Tucson. She is offering spiritual direction sessions to individuals and contemplative retreats using her songs (many of which are included in her CD, Yesterday’s Rain) to community groups, addiction and recovery centers, and churches. Her dream is to inspire people of all ages to connect with their own spirit to direct them to move toward the authentic lives they were created to live.
